Seattle Parks and Recreation joins Funnerator

Today we announced our partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation bringing their rich assortment of more than 16,000 annual activities and classes to Funnerator. If you’ve ever booked a Seattle Parks and Recreation activity, you understand why this announcement is such great news. Beginning today, parents may register for Seattle Parks and Recreation activities by using Funnerator’s Universal Registration Form. Simply fill-out the form once, and it’s yours to use over and over on any activity featuring a “Book It” button.

Today’s announcement is a big step towards our mission of saving time for busy parents, and we are excited to welcome Seattle Parks and Recreation to Funnerator.

It’s a great day for families of Mercer Island!

Yesterday Mercer Island Parks and Recreation announced the launch of our partnership bringing their catalog of hundreds of Mercer Island preschool and youth classes and activities into Funnerator. Now when booking Mercer Island activities, parents may simply fill-out our Universal Registration Form once, and then their form may be used again and again for any activity featuring a “Book It” button — this means no more paperwork for busy parents!

We’re excited to be partnering with Mercer Island Parks and Recreation to inspire parents and kids while helping parents to save time.

Why we’re here

Funnerator is more than a startup; it’s a mission.  There are just some things that shouldn’t be as hard as they are.  As parents, we know just how difficult it can be to find out-of-school activity options for kids. But once you find an activity that meets your child’s approval, and registration paperwork sometimes as voluminous as a college application, it is a wonder there is time for much else.

After talking with hundreds of activity and camp owners, we’ve also learned just how challenging it can be to fill program spots with kids. Dedicated educators, teachers, camp directors and coaches are passionate about sharing and teaching your kids a skill or a craft; not about search engine results, web development or marketing expertise. Most activity owners wish they had a way to better connect with families and kids that may be interested in their program.

We’ve spoken to hundreds of parents. We’ve seen the amazing color-coded scheduling spreadsheets, the manila folders full of dog-eared activity and camp brochures and the complex email strings parents use to organize and decide which activity their kids will attend.

We believe there is a better way, and thus Funnerator was born. We are building the product that we, and each of the parents we’ve listened to, want to use to make the activity planning process easier. We are building the product that will help activity owners fill their classes and manage demand for their classes.

We think that saving both parents and activity owners precious time, while aiding each to be better at what they do is an immensely worthy mission.  Sanity matters.
